It's been awhile

Since I posted, but considering the last post was about my cook niece and her cool club, how can you beat that? Well there are a couple things you can do. You can write about this little lady:

This is Madyson, she is the daughter of my oh-so-cool niece. Now hers is a club I want to belong to!!!!!! Smooochies Maddy!! my little Muffinhead!

You could also write that your husband found a brother he never knew he had! it's true! I can write this now, but the whole story is something Jim probably wouldn't want me to put in a blog. So I'll respect that and just say, he found out this past month he has an older brother. That package comes with new nieces and a nephew too. It's the kind of story you'd write in an RPG or see on a Soap Opera!

Cool things

Alright, I miss titled my blog here, the title should have been "Life of Farmer Jean."

My bad.. when I post, I have to remember to write more about this COOL Farmer Jean. What's a Farmer Jean? you ask..THIS is a Farmer Jean:

Here she is with the "modest cool" look on her face. That's where she's only slightly cool to make you feel like you fit in...

Here she's thinking about all the cool things that are HER. She may even be thinking about letting you into her cool club..BUT you have to be cool....REAL cool....

People love to get into the picture with her. They are known as "hop ons.." they hope by hopping on her cool aura, they too will be cool. Farmer Jean is very generous and lets them all join in even if they don't make the cut...see:

Another person appeased and lulled into a false sense of coolness...Will she approve you?

She's checking you out right now!!! will you fit her cool mood? Smile!! she's checking you out and maybe you can enter the cool light of the Farmer Jean!!!!!!

My sister's wedding...

My sister, Kathy got married on Saturday, Sept 24th. I hadn't seen any family since 2005, and none of my nieces and nephews since 2004. So hubby, my good friend and sister, Tracie and I made the long trek across the U.S.A. (God that drive was exhausting LOL) to attend this festive event. They didn't know my husband was coming. He at first said no, because he thought he couldn't get the time from work. Then to his surprise, his boss approved him for it at the last minute. He didn't want anyone to know he was coming too, so my family thought it would just be me and Tracie. At first, the moment I turned on her street, hubby was supposed to get in the back seat and cover up with a blanket I had there. I originally was going to knock on the door and say "hey, I picked up something rather heavy for you along the way, can you guys help me get it out of the car?" But it got real late by the time we pulled into Danville. So he decided to just let his presence be known when we got there. I did suggest telling my sister "hey Kathy, some old dude at one of the stops looked like he was following us and I think he's outside!!!" and have Jim stick his face in her window and say "boo!" or something. LMAO! As it turned out, we didn't need to do any of that. Jim sat in the passenger side, we pulled up and the door to the house opened. Jefferson was the first one out and over to me, greeting me as it was our first meeting. Then Kathy came out and hugged me, went over to hug Tracie and noticed Jim. The air was filled with "OH MY GOD!!! OH MY GOD YOU'RE HERE!!!!" and Jefferson said the look on her face was priceless. LOL.

The picture above is by Linda Pettice Howie. She and her husband did all the pictures for the wedding. The ones posted on my facebook are ones taken by the family. I did see a presentation of the ones taken by Linda at the reception and I thought they came out great!

My parents are deceased, so to represent them and make them a part of the wedding, my sister had her two younger sons carry their pictures down the aisle with the procession. They carried them to the altar and placed them with the candles. The minister said a few words about them. At the reception, a table was set up for just my parents. Their pictures were placed on the table. My other sister, Chrissy, also brought one of my brother and sat it up on the table as well. They'd of loved to have been there. I thought it was touching and it did bring tears to everyone's eyes. Her oldest son, Steven, gave her away.

I had alot of fun at the reception and the whole time out there. She looked beautiful, and the ceremony was beautiful. The reception was great too. I danced with my nephew Steven, with my niece's boyfriend, Brian and of course my husband. I also danced with Tracie LOL!

So I have a new brother in law. I like him. Congratulations Kathy & Jefferson!

Facebook

I don't know about facebook. I tried to share the previous post, but it wouldn't let me. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. It's a bit irritating. I'm still planning the trip, so my posts will be scarce. Haven't been able to get any pictures of the cats uploaded yet, that's the next thing after my visit.

Getting ready for a trip

I am getting ready for a trip to Illinois. My sister is getting married next Saturday, so Thursday I start the road trip out. This will be the first time in 6 years that I've been out there. In the summer of 2004, my mom and I went out. I'll never forget that drive LOL. We were somewhere in Ohio, it was 2am and I realized I was in the wrong spot. The exit I wanted was across one of those island thingys. The convo between us went like this:

Me: "Shit! we're supposed to be over there!"
Mom: "really?"
Me: "yes really.."...
Mom: "PULL OVER AND CALL 911!!!!"
Me: "Mom, you don't call 911 when you've gone the wrong way.."
Mom: "Then what do you do?"
Me: "This..." I say as suddenly a break in those island thingys comes up, I swerve through it to the other side, mom's eyes popping out of her head..

Mom: "DAWN MARIE!! you just went where you weren't supposed to go!!!"
Me: "But we're where we are supposed to be now mom..there's only one thing left to do.."
Mom: "What??"
Me: "Check the rear-view mirror and make sure no cops are chasing us now.."
Mom: "DAWN!!!!!!!!"
Me: "Don't worry mom, no cops!"

She talked about this trip until the day she passed on. Told everyone I made my own path. Well, that's what we all do in life!

The girls

NOTE: I'm not responsible for any blindness that results from viewing images herein LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay view with caution..here they are:

This is Kathy. Okay, you look at her and it's hard to believe that growing up my mother would put her hair in pigtails so tight, it looked like her brains were being sucked out between the little plastic balls on the hair ties mom would use.

See what I mean?

Mom would take the brush and comb, part their hair perfectly then brush and pull and twist as tight as she could (sort of like alien antenna) to the sides of their heads. Came in handy though when I wanted to shake them..just grab the antenna on the sides of their heads and you had them!!!! thanks mom!!! okay, we have an extra person in this pic. Desi. From left to right we have my sister Chrissy, Desi, and Kathy looking away to the side.

Here's a more recent one of Chrissy...

The look on her face says "don't hate me cuz I'm beautiful..." HA HA HA!!!!! I'll be seeing them both next week for the first time in 6 years. Kathy is getting married!!!

You really never know what these two are up to nowadays. Here they are, partners in crime don't let the innocent looks fool you:

Ahh the good ole days of them both skipping school and the school sending home notes to mom and dad, and me taking them and hiding them so they wouldn't get in trouble! I had those notes and used them usually as leverage so I didn't get tattled on. Years later, I told my mom I still had them. She said "DAWN MARIE! YOU MEAN TO TELL ME YOU TOOK YOUR FATHER'S AND MY MAIL???" Umm yup. :) I had to survive the tattling somehow.....Now off to torture the cats into posing for a pic....
